17-Year-Old Boy Breaks Silence After Alleged Sexual Assault, Ogun Police Hunt Suspect

The Ogun State Police Command has launched an immediate manhunt for a man identified as Kola following an allegation of sexual molestation involving a 17-year-old boy in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect after the teenage victim and his parents reported the matter at the Adigbe Police Division in Abeokuta on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

According to the victim, the alleged sexual assault happened on three separate occasions in January 2026. He reportedly told the Police that the suspect also threatened him and warned him to keep silent about the incidents.

The allegation has prompted the Police to begin an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the reported abuse.

Global Mirror News gathered that the matter only came to the attention of the Ogun State Police Command when the teenager and his parents formally reported the incident at the Adigbe Police Division on September 8.

Following the report, the distraught teenager was taken to a hospital within the Adigbe axis for medical examination as detectives commenced investigation.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the development in a statement, saying that the suspect had gone into hiding and was currently at large.

According to the police spokesperson, CP Ojajuni has directed detectives to intensify efforts to track down the suspect and bring him to justice.

“The said Kola is presently at large, and CP Bode Ojajuni has directed detectives to intensify efforts to locate and arrest him on sight,” Babaseyi stated.

The Police did not disclose the identity of the teenage victim, in line with the need to protect the privacy and dignity of a minor involved in an alleged sexual offence.

The Command assured the public that the allegation was receiving urgent, professional and sensitive attention, while detectives continue to investigate the case and work towards locating the suspect.

Global Mirror News reports that the Ogun State Police Command also reiterated its commitment to protecting children and vulnerable persons, urging members of the public to provide investigators with any credible information that could assist in locating the suspect.

The Command further assured the public that the investigation would be conducted professionally and that appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
