Miss Nigeria Tamunosoye Karibi-George Wins Top Model for Africa, Secures Miss World Top 40 Spot
Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has made Nigeria proud on the International stage after winning the Top Model for Africa title at the ongoing 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival in Vietnam.
The achievement has automatically secured Karibi-George a place in the Top 40 quarterfinals of the 2026 Miss World competition, giving Nigeria a major boost ahead of the grand finale.
According to the Miss World organisers, the Nigerian Beauty Queen emerged as the continental winner after distinguishing herself during the highly competitive Top Model contest held as part of the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage.”
Karibi-George’s victory places her among four continental Top Model winners who have earned direct qualification into the Top 40 stage of the global pageant.
Global Mirror News gathered that the other continental winners are Miss World Dominican Republic, who won Top Model for the Americas and Caribbean; Miss World France, who emerged Top Model for Europe; and Miss World Vietnam, who won Top Model for Asia and Oceania.
The Top Model competition is one of the major fast-track events at the Miss World Festival, giving contestants an opportunity to demonstrate their confidence, runway skills, elegance, poise and ability to represent their countries on a global fashion platform.
For Nigeria, Karibi-George’s success represents more than a modelling achievement, as it gives the Country an early place in the final stages of one of the world’s most recognised beauty pageants.
The 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival commenced in Vietnam on August 9, 2026, and will culminate in the grand finale on September 5, 2026, where contestants will compete for the coveted Miss World crown.
Karibi-George, 26, is a communications professional from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 on June 6 at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, after emerging from a competitive national contest.
Her latest accomplishment means she will now continue her Miss World journey with the advantage of having already secured a place among the Top 40 contestants.
As the competition progresses, attention will increasingly focus on the remaining fast-track events and challenges that could determine which contestants advance to the later stages of the competition.
Karibi-George’s Top Model victory has therefore placed Nigeria firmly among the countries to watch as the Miss World Festival moves towards its September 5 finale.
