26-Year-Old Mother Allegedly Beaten to Death After Confronting Husband’s Alleged Lover

A 26-year-old woman, identified as Vainess Kanyama, has reportedly died after she was allegedly assaulted by a woman believed to be involved in an affair with her husband in Kitwe, Zambia.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the Kapoto Township area, after Kanyama allegedly went to confront Christin Ntundwe, who is said to live in the same community, over an alleged romantic relationship with her husband.

According to information gathered by Global Mirror News, the confrontation ended in violence, leaving Kanyama unconscious and seriously injured.

Her uncle, Derrick Bwalya, who confirmed the incident, said he received an urgent call informing him that his niece had been found lying unconscious near a market.

Bwalya said he immediately rushed to the location and was met by a crowd gathered around the young woman.

“When I got there, I found my niece bleeding from the nose and she was unresponsive,” he reportedly said.

He explained that he attempted to arrange for her to be taken to hospital, but was informed that she had already died.

The matter was subsequently reported to the Police as the family sought answers over the circumstances surrounding the young mother’s death.

According to Bwalya, Kanyama had been living with her husband in the same area before the incident. He said she decided to confront Ntundwe over the alleged affair, resulting in the fatal encounter.

One of Kanyama’s daughters was reportedly present when the incident occurred. After seeing her mother lying unconscious, the child allegedly rushed home to alert relatives, who then went to the scene.

A post-mortem examination was later conducted to establish the cause of death.

The examination reportedly revealed that Kanyama died from blood clots on both sides of the brain, injuries the family believes were sustained during the alleged assault.

Kanyama was subsequently buried on Friday, August 21, 2026, following the completion of the post-mortem examination.

Speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, Bwalya called for justice, insisting that the circumstances surrounding Kanyama’s death must be thoroughly investigated.

He said nobody had the right to take his niece’s life and urged the authorities to ensure that whoever was responsible faced the law.

The family also appealed to Kanyama’s husband to cooperate fully with investigators and assist the Police in locating Ntundwe, who was reportedly on the run following the incident.

The death has left behind three children, with the youngest reportedly only five years old, deepening the tragedy for the family.

As investigations continue, the allegations against the suspect remain subject to police investigation and due process. The circumstances leading to the fatal confrontation are expected to be established as authorities pursue the suspect.

Global Mirror News gathered that the case has renewed concerns over the deadly consequences that can arise from domestic and relationship disputes, particularly when confrontations escalate into physical violence.
