Suspected Cultist Dies After Slumping While Fleeing Police in Ogun

A suspected cultist identified simply as Damola has reportedly died after he allegedly slumped while attempting to flee from Police operatives in the Kajola area of Ikenne Local Government Area, Ogun State.

Global Mirror News gathered that the incident occurred after the Police received intelligence concerning an alleged attack in which a man was reportedly ambushed by suspected members of a cult group in the area.

Following the information, Police operatives reportedly moved into the community to investigate the incident and apprehend those allegedly connected with the attack.

During the operation, one of the suspects, identified as Oluwatimileyin Daniel, was reportedly arrested, while other suspected members of the group took to their heels in an attempt to evade arrest.

Damola was said to have collapsed while fleeing from the security operatives. He was reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention, but was later confirmed dead.

The circumstances surrounding his collapse and death have continued to generate concern within the community, particularly as the incident occurred during a Police operation targeting suspected cult-related activities.

The development reportedly created tension in Kajola, with security operatives subsequently increasing their presence in the area to prevent a possible escalation of the situation.

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and determine the full facts of the case.

The Command is also expected to establish whether the deceased was directly involved in the alleged cult-related incident that led to the Police operation.

The Police have continued to appeal for calm while the investigation progresses.
