Odogbolu LG Boss, Dr. Oyetola Diya, Extols Teachers for Their Contributions to Nation-Building

The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Dr. Babatunde Oyetola Diya, has commended teachers across the country for their invaluable contributions to education, human capital development and nation-building.
Dr. Diya gave the commendation in a message marking the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, describing teachers as indispensable pillars of national development whose dedication, sacrifices and commitment continue to shape the future of society.
The Chairman acknowledged the challenging responsibilities shouldered by teachers, noting that beyond imparting academic knowledge, they mould character, instil discipline and nurture the talents and potentials of younger generations who will eventually become leaders and professionals in various sectors of the economy.
According to him, “Teachers occupy a strategic position in the development of every nation. The quality of education a society provides largely determines the quality of its future leaders, workforce and citizens. We must therefore continue to appreciate, support and motivate our teachers to enable them discharge their responsibilities effectively.”
Dr. Diya further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting educational development within Odogbolu Local Government, particularly through initiatives that improve the learning environment and enhance the welfare of teachers and pupils.
He called on relevant stakeholders, parents, communities and government at all levels to continue to collaborate in strengthening the education sector and ensuring that teachers receive the recognition and support they deserve.
The Chairman congratulated teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, urging them to remain steadfast in their noble profession and continue to serve as positive role models to the younger generation.
He expressed optimism that sustained investment in education and the teaching profession would contribute significantly to building a more prosperous, peaceful and developed Nigeria.
