‘I Used to Cry Watching From Afar’ – Mo’ Bimpe Opens Up on Her Journey to Motherhood

Nollywood Actress and filmmaker Mo’ Bimpe has opened up about the emotional struggles she experienced before becoming a mother, revealing that she once felt excluded from celebrations such as baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday parties.

The Actress shared the reflection while attending the first birthday celebration of a child identified as Rakeem, an experience she said was particularly meaningful because of how different her life is today.

According to Mo’ Bimpe, there was a period in her life when she would see people around her attending events celebrating childbirth and children, while she remained on the sidelines.

She explained that she was rarely invited to such occasions and that the experience made her feel left out and emotionally affected.

“For years, I felt left out. I never got invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies or children’s birthdays,” she said.

The Actress disclosed that she sometimes watched such celebrations from afar and cried because she longed to experience the joy associated with motherhood.

Reflecting on how dramatically her circumstances have changed, Mo’ Bimpe said she went from not being a mother to becoming a mother of three boys.

“Last year, I wasn’t a mom. But this year, I’m a mom of three boys,” she said.

The Actress used her personal experience to encourage women who are currently waiting to conceive, urging them not to lose hope or give up on their dreams of becoming mothers.

Mo’ Bimpe stressed that circumstances can change unexpectedly, describing her own journey as evidence that a difficult season in a person’s life does not necessarily determine their future.

She said being invited to Rakeem’s first birthday celebration therefore carried a deeper meaning for her. Beyond simply attending a children’s party, the invitation reminded her of the significant transformation her life has undergone.

The Actress noted that, after years of feeling excluded from similar celebrations, being present at the birthday party as a mother herself was an emotional and fulfilling experience.

Mo’ Bimpe’s revelation has resonated with conversations surrounding the emotional pressures often faced by women who are waiting to conceive. Social gatherings centred on childbirth and children can sometimes become painful reminders for women going through fertility challenges, even when the celebrants and guests may have no intention of causing hurt.

Global Mirror News gathered that Mo’ Bimpe’s message was largely centred on hope, patience and the possibility of change, as she encouraged women facing similar experiences to remain hopeful about their own journeys.

Her story also highlights how personal milestones that may appear ordinary to others can carry profound emotional significance for someone who has spent years hoping for the opportunity to experience them.

The Actress’s transition into motherhood has therefore become a significant part of her personal story, with her latest reflection offering encouragement to women who may currently feel forgotten, excluded or discouraged while waiting for their own long-awaited breakthrough.

Mo’ Bimpe’s message was simple: a difficult chapter does not mean the story is over.
