The Shepherd-in-Charge of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Columbus Cathedral, Ohio, VSE Amos Ojerinde, FCIB, has received the prestigious Pioneering Partners Award from New Americans Magazine as part of activities marking the publication’s 10th anniversary celebration in Columbus, Ohio.

The recognition came during the magazine’s milestone celebration, which brought together notable personalities and community stakeholders, including the Mayor of Columbus, Mr. Andrew J. Ginther, to commemorate a decade of community storytelling and the documentation of inspiring experiences and achievements.

The anniversary event was organised by New Americans Magazine, founded by Mr. Deba Uwadiae, who serves as its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief. Uwadiae, who was positioned in the middle in the accompanying photograph of the three personalities, has led the publication through its ten-year journey of documenting community stories and recognising individuals and institutions making meaningful contributions to society.
Beyond the award presented to its Shepherd, CCC Columbus Cathedral also recorded another significant recognition, with its publications featured on pages 15 and 23 of the special 10th anniversary edition of New Americans Magazine.
The inclusion of the Cathedral’s publications provided an opportunity to showcase its activities, contributions and growing presence within the Columbus community, bringing its work to the attention of a wider readership.

The presence of Mayor Andrew J. Ginther at the celebration added prominence to the occasion. Ginther is the Mayor of Columbus, the capital city of Ohio State in the United States of America, and his attendance highlighted the community significance of the magazine’s decade-long milestone.
For CCC Columbus Cathedral, the recognition carries additional significance considering its historical position as the first Celestial Church of Christ established in the State of Ohio. Its presence in the anniversary publication therefore offers an opportunity to project the church’s identity, activities and contributions within the wider American community.

The Pioneering Partners Award presented to VSE Amos Ojerinde, FCIB, further highlights the importance of leadership, partnership and community engagement in building institutions and strengthening relationships across different communities.
Reporting the development, Global Mirror News gathered that the twin recognition of the Cathedral and its Shepherd represents a notable moment in the church’s public profile, particularly within the Nigerian and African diaspora communities in the United States.
The Cathedral’s appearance on two separate pages of the anniversary edition also underscores the value of media partnerships in projecting institutional activities, strengthening community relationships and preserving stories of impact.

As New Americans Magazine celebrates ten years of community storytelling, the honour bestowed on VSE Amos Ojerinde and the publication’s recognition of CCC Columbus Cathedral stand out as significant highlights of the anniversary celebration.
Global Mirror News celebrates the recognition and acknowledges the contributions of media organisations, religious institutions and community leaders in promoting positive stories, fostering partnerships and documenting achievements that inspire future generations.
