ABEOKUTA SOUTH LG CHAIRMAN, HON. BALOGUN, LOSES FATHER

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Olaniyi Afeez Balogun, has lost his beloved father, Alhaji Chief Alimi Olayiwola Balogun. He passed away on Wednesday, 2nd September, 2026 at the age of 99.

Until his passing, the late Alhaji Chief Alimi Olayiwola Balogun served with distinction as the Baba Adinni of Nawair-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch; Baba Adinni of Oba Muslims; and Balogun of Obaland.

During his lying-in-state, religious leaders, family members, and associates described him as a loving father, pacesetter and a dogged fighter who lived a life of service, faith and integrity.

In accordance with Islamic rites, he was laid to rest on Thursday, 3rd September, 2026 at his residence, No. 1 Oba-Karunwi Street, Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Hon. Balogun, on behalf of his family, expressed profound appreciation to all who have extended condolences and support during this period of grief.

The Chairman therefore solicits prayers for the peaceful repose of his father’s soul and for the family to have the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

He prayed that the Almighty Allah grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
