Yayi Pledges Bus, N50m Support to CCM Ahead of 2027 APC Campaign
The Ogun State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has pledged to provide a bus and ₦50 million to the Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) to strengthen its mobilisation and coordination activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yayi made the pledge on Friday in Abeokuta during an engagement with the leadership and members of the CCM, where he acknowledged the movement’s grassroots mobilisation efforts and its support for his governorship ambition.
The APC Governorship candidate said the proposed support was aimed at enhancing the capacity of the movement to coordinate its programmes, mobilise members and participate effectively in political activities as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum across Ogun State.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the CCM for their continued support, stressing the importance of grassroots structures to political mobilisation.
Yayi specifically commended the chairman of the movement, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Big Champion Akile Egbaland, for his leadership and commitment to the movement and the APC campaign.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the Central Coordinate Movement for the support you have continued to give us. I also want to appreciate your chairman, Chief Taiwo Elewide, for his commitment and dedication,” Yayi said.
He subsequently announced the financial and logistical support for the group.
“I will give you a bus and N50 million to support the activities of CCM. I believe this will help you in your mobilisation and other engagements as we prepare for the campaign,” he stated.
The pledge is expected to provide additional logistical capacity for the movement as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to intensify.
Global Mirror News gathered that the engagement also provided an opportunity for members of the CCM to reaffirm their support for Yayi while discussing the expected role of grassroots organisations in the APC’s campaign activities.
The meeting brought together the movement’s leadership and members, with discussions focusing on mobilisation, coordination and maintaining unity ahead of the electioneering period.
Speaking on behalf of the CCM, Elewide thanked Yayi for recognising the contributions of the movement and for pledging support to its activities.
He assured that the group would continue to work with relevant stakeholders and remain committed to mobilising its members as preparations for the 2027 elections progress.
Elewide also emphasised the need for unity and effective coordination among members, saying the movement would continue to pursue its objectives while supporting its political engagements.
The development comes as political activities in Ogun State increasingly shift towards grassroots mobilisation, with various political groups and support organisations stepping up engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
