Remo North APC Unveils Campaign Council, Candidate Equips 10 Wards for Grassroots Mobilisation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State has formally activated its 2027 campaign machinery with the inauguration of its Local Government Campaign Council, featuring the appointment of respectable party stalwarts and reputable political strategists, as key members of the campaign structure.

The inauguration, held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the APC Secretariat in Isara Remo, brought together party leaders, government functionaries, campaign officials, ward executives and grassroots stakeholders from the 10 wards of the local government.

The inauguration also saw party leaders charge members of the campaign council to take the campaign to every ward, community and political unit in Remo North.

They stressed the need for unity, discipline, teamwork and coordinated grassroots mobilisation as the APC prepares for the presidential, governorship, Ogun East Senatorial, Remo Federal Constituency and Ogun State House of Assembly elections.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of newly branded public address systems to all 10 wards in Remo North.

Hon. Chief Adebiyi Adeleye presented the equipment to the ward structures, describing the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots communication and mobilisation.

The PA systems are expected to support ward meetings, rallies, political engagements and other campaign activities across the local government.

Otunba Dare Odufowokan, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communication, emerged as the Director of Media and Public Communication for the campaign in Remo North L.G.A.

Odufowokan’s involvement adds a significant dimension to the campaign structure, coming at a time when political parties are increasingly relying on coordinated messaging, grassroots engagement and strategic communication to reach voters.

With his experience in political strategy, media and publicity, Odufowokan is expected to contribute to the development and dissemination of the party’s campaign messages, particularly in connecting the party’s programmes and candidates with the electorate at the grassroots.

The gathering featured speeches, goodwill messages, prayers and words of counsel from party leaders, while campaign materials and souvenirs, including branded caps, were distributed to participants.

Among the notable personalities at the inauguration were Dr. Hon. Babatunde Adejare, Secretary of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council; Deacon Yinka Adeleye, APC State Executive Officer; Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi; Hon. Chief Adebiyi Adeleye; Otunba Dare Odufowokan, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communication; Prince Niyi Akinsanya; Hon. Adesoye Oyekan; Otunba Muyiwa Sodade, Chairman of Remo North Local Government; and Prince Dapo Odunsi, immediate past Chairman of the council.

Also present were Prince Akeem Ajibola, APC Remo North LGA Chairman; Hon. Kola Dickson Awolaja, member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Remo North; Hon. Chief Solomon Osho, Esq.; Hon. Koye Ijaduoye, Commissioner II, Local Government Service Commission; Apesin Taiwo Jowosinmi; Hon. Foye Sofodu; Otunba Muyiwa Sobambo; and High Chief Olakunle Olalekan, Lisa of Orile-Oko.

The campaign council was further represented by Hon. Lekan Folarin, Campaign Director-General; Hon. Yinka Soyemi, APC LGA Secretary; Hon. Segun Jolaosho, Leader of the House; Barr. Kunle Sorinola; and Hon. Akin Arikawe, former member of the APC State Executive Council.

The event also attracted serving and former councillors, APC executives, ward leaders, youth and student leaders, traditional and religious leaders, artisans, community representatives, union members, Local Government Supervisors, Special Advisers and other stakeholders.

The broad representation underscored the party’s emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, with the newly inaugurated council expected to coordinate campaign activities across all 10 wards.

The inauguration therefore marks the beginning of a structured campaign operation in Remo North, combining ward-level mobilisation, communication and political engagement.

With the inclusion of Odufowokan, alongside the deployment of communication equipment to all 10 wards, the Remo North APC campaign council is positioned to strengthen its information flow and grassroots engagement as political activities towards the 2027 elections intensify.
