Odogbolu Legislative Council Leader, Councillors Commend Diya on Reconstruction of Legislative Chamber
The Leader of the Legislative Council, Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Akeem Adesoye, has commended the Executive Chairman, Hon. Dr. Babatunde Oyetola Diya, for his visionary leadership and commitment to strengthening the legislative arm of government through the reconstruction of a befitting and modern Legislative Council Chamber.
Hon. Adesoye, in a statement issued on Tuesday, 6th October, 2026, described the reconstructed chamber as a landmark achievement that reflects the Chairman’s unwavering commitment to institutional development, democratic values and effective governance at the grassroots.
According to him, the new Legislative Council Chamber will provide a more conducive and dignified environment for legislative deliberations, enhance the performance of Honourable Councillors in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, and promote greater efficiency in the legislative process.
He noted that the project further demonstrates the Chairman’s respect for the principles of separation of powers and his determination to create an enabling environment for both the Executive and Legislative arms to effectively discharge their respective responsibilities in the interest of the people of Odogbolu Local Government.
“We sincerely appreciate our dynamic and performing Executive Chairman for this remarkable intervention. For many years, we looked forward to having a modern Legislative Chamber that would reflect the status and responsibilities of the Legislative Council. Today, that aspiration has become a reality.
“This project is not merely about the reconstruction of a physical structure; it is a significant investment in democracy, good governance and institutional development. It clearly demonstrates that the Chairman is a true democrat who values the Legislative Council and understands the importance of a strong and functional legislative arm at the grassroots,” the Leader stated.
Hon. Adesoye further assured that the Legislative Council would continue to work harmoniously with the Executive arm and support the administration of Hon. Dr. Babatunde Oyetola Diya in its determination to deliver meaningful dividends of democracy and sustainable development to the people of Odogbolu Local Government.
On behalf of all Honourable Councillors, the Leader reaffirmed their loyalty, cooperation and unflinching support for the administration of the Executive Chairman, while expressing optimism that the renewed synergy between the two arms of government would yield greater developmental achievements for the Local Government.
