NYSC Makes NERD Clearance Compulsory, Warns Prospective Corps Members Against Mobilisation Delays
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has introduced a fresh requirement for prospective corps members, making clearance from the National Electronic Registration Database (NERD) compulsory before they can be mobilised for the national service programme.

In a public advisory released through its official social media platform on Monday, August 3, 2026, the NYSC warned all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) that failure to secure the required NERD clearance could prevent or delay their mobilisation.
The scheme urged eligible graduates to complete the clearance process early and ensure that all necessary requirements are met before the commencement of the orientation exercise.
The NYSC stated emphatically: “NERD clearance is compulsory for all PCMs. No NERD clearance, No NYSC!!!”
