Court Remands Odogwu Asaba Over Alleged Rape, Death of 20-Year-Old Favour

A Delta State court has ordered the remand of popular content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, better known as Odogwu Asaba, at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre over the alleged rape and death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.

The remand order was granted on Friday, September 4, 2026, following an application brought before the court in connection with the circumstances surrounding Favour’s death.

Counsel to the deceased’s family, Awele Ideal, disclosed the development in a social media update on Friday afternoon.

According to the Lawyer, the court’s decision to remand Ogbonna comes barely a week after the results of the autopsy and toxicology tests conducted in connection with the case were made available to the Police investigation team.

The release of the forensic reports is expected to form part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances that led to Favour’s death.

Favour, who was 20 years old, died under circumstances that have generated public concern, with allegations of rape forming a major part of the case against the content creator.

The remand order means Ogbonna will remain in custody at the correctional facility as the legal and investigative processes continue.

The development marks another major step in the case, following the completion of the autopsy and toxicology examinations and the subsequent submission of their results to the police investigation team.
